I am currently using a shoulder sling strap – can my shoulder strap's round fastener work with the SpiderPro Hand Strap?
This setup can present some unique challenges. We provide you with a round rubber washer, so please make sure you insert that part per instructions to prevent slipping/de-threading. Results may vary, depending on connector type and make.
My camera does not have the regular slot style connection, but has a round eyelete connector (some Nikon bodies, SONY, etc.). Will the SpiderPro Hand Strap work with these cameras?
Yes! Please use one of the two black adapters and attach per the instructions that come with the SpiderPro Hand Strap v2.
What if I don’t have a tripod plate?
No problem. The SpiderPro Hand Strap v2 ships with everything you need to use it, right out of the box.
Will the SpiderPro Hand Strapv2 work with my short and long camera bodies (i.e vertical grip)?
Yes, the SpiderPro Hand Strap v2 is designed to work with or without vertical grip.
What are the snaps for? Some of the photos show a leather piece attached to the snaps.
We include an optional wrist strap that can be attached via the snaps for additional support, if desired.
What if taking the camera out and in of my holster is difficult when my hand is in the hand strap?
Please make sure you take your hand OUT of the hand strap, hold your camera with your right hand OUTSIDE the hand strap – then insert the camera into the holster. Repeat the same for taking your camera out of the Holster. This may take a few minutes to get used to, but will become second nature after a short while!
Will the hand strap work with my mirrorless camera?
Yes, the SpiderPro Handstrap v2 pairs with any flagship mirrorless camera, and will not get in the way of the battery door.

I am so glad that I purchased a SPIDER product and looking forward to purchasing more!
Overall I really like the rugged build of the products. I am confident they will not fail. I like the pin system with the safety lock or no lock.
I do not like that the baseplates are not a custom fit for my Canon R body. The pro plate and lite plate equally don’t fit the camera body perfect. I plan on having a Canon R5 body in the future and wonder which plate will fit better, unless you build custom plates. I also don’t like that you call the Pro plate for dslr bodies, and the Lite plate for mirrorless. Why consider mirrorless cameras not professional? That was why I ordered the Pro system. I didn’t look at the Lite system because I thought it was less quality which led to some back and forth shipping.
I do not like the belt because of the velcro. The velcro makes it difficult to make any adjustments easily. Depending on what kind of wardrobe I am wearing,(layers, jackets, etc.) I need flexible fitting. That much velcro locking the belt is making it one size which is not practical. Adding the 2nd holster is very difficult and is hard to make adjustments. I actually preferred using the 2nd holster on my own work belt (normal leather belt) with my Setwear pouch to hold an extra battery, cards, cleaning cloth, etc. I am able to move the holster and pouch for easy adjustments. I can send you a pic of this set up if you like. I plan on selling the belt since I won’t use it. Unless you would let me trade it in for credit on other items. I used it for 2 days its in excellent condition.
The Pro hand strap v2 is a quality build and design. It was a pinch tight and I have a normal size hand. When attached it was at its limit length so I had no room to adjust for better comfort. If anyone were to use my camera with a larger hand they would not fit. It just needed to be a little longer in length. When using the strap with a Lite baseplate, the added thickness makes the screw barely reach the camera body. I had to not use the washer, but kept the rubber washer in place. With that limited fit I was nervous the first day of everything coming loose. The flip out metal piece on the screw is useless and gets in the way of the tiny plate. You don’t do that on the larger plate. I preferred to just use the tool. I don’t like the snaps on the safety wrist strap they don’t give me a lot of confidence. I would rather see an easy quick release system instead.
Are there going to be any harness designs in the future? I know you have a backpack clip.

Great solution for hiking
I recently had a chance to try out my spider holster and backpacker kit while hiking in the Minnesota North Shore. I easily was able to switch between two camera bodies and when needed I could hike hands free over the uneven trails. My 150-600 lens felt very secure with the lens collar plate. I did notice that the Pro Plate did loosen with repeated use of repositioning on my tripod. Happy to have the stowed wrench. My question is how to use this system with an L bracket?
This is the perfect product for me as a photographer. I never used my neck strap and didn’t have anything keeping my camera secure while I shoot. Now I had confidence!
